Allen Ray Sarven was born on July 18, 1963, in Lima, Ohio. He attended a professional tryout camp held by Gene Anderson and Ole. At the camp, he met a promoter of Ohio’s Midwest Championship Wrestling, Jim Lancaster, who agreed to train him. Jim later described him as “the ring leader who had the drive and natural ability.” Snow made his debut in wrestling in May 1982. He defeated Lancaster for the Midwest Wrestling title on May 5, 1985.
Snow wrestled in several independent promotions in the 1980s and early 1990s. In 1993, Snow competed for the WWF losing to The Undertaker and Marty Jannetty under the name Steve Moore. He helped train future UFC Hall of Fame member and NWA World Heavyweight Champion Dan Severn.
During that time, Snow would wrestle as shinobi. He wrestled on November 19, 1994 match for the vacant NWA World Heavy Weight Championship, but unfortunately, he lost to Chris Candido.

Al snow completed for Smoky Mountain Wrestling and Extreme Championship Wrestling in 1995 and then joined WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) in 1995 to 1997. He then returned to ECW from 1997 to 1998 before joining WWE again from 1998 to 2008. Al Snow later competed on the independent circuit and in Total Action Wrestling.
He held the WWE Hardcore Championship six times, WWE European Championship, and WWE Tag Team Championship with Mankind. Al Snow also worked as a show producer for Ohio Valley Wrestling and road agent for TNA. Snow opened the Al Snow Wrestling Academy and had appeared in various films.
